👋 Good Morning Belfast

There's a different energy around the city this week.

Whether you've wandered through the Cathedral Quarter, crossed City Hall or simply nipped into town for lunch, you've probably heard the sound of fiddles, pipes and bodhráns drifting through the streets. Belfast is hosting the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann for the very first time, and the city feels alive.

Welcome to the very first edition of Belfast Brief.

Every week I'll bring together the best things happening across Belfast—from events and food to family days out, hidden gems and local stories—so you spend less time searching and more time enjoying the city.

⭐ Three Things Worth Knowing

🎻 Belfast becomes Ireland's music capital

The Fleadh Cheoil is finally here, bringing more than 200 performances, competitions and cultural events to the city over the next week. Expect live music almost everywhere you go.

🚧 Plan ahead if you're heading into town

Large parts of the city centre are pedestrianised during the Fleadh. Allow extra travel time and consider using public transport or one of the dedicated Park & Ride services.

🛍️ St George's Market has extended opening

The market is opening throughout the festival with longer hours later in the week, making it an ideal stop between performances

Kyle joined the group just 4 months ago and recently completed his first 10K! Here’s what he had to say:

“I never thought I’d enjoy running this much. The energy, encouragement, and consistency of the group made all the difference.”
